Port Forwarding
The Problem:
Although not a large problem, this is our initial project setup this week. That said we had to make decisions on what items were portable to save us time in our already limited amount of time and what would need to be built up from scratch. Our decision led us to bringing over some skeleton work for our player character and some of our UI elements such as our menus, player structure, and weaponry. This will allow us to have a solid working base and then tweak it to perform the way we need it too.
Now that the conversion is moving along, much of what we needed is mostly ported over or completely ported, so now we are on to the phase of adaptation. This ultimately saved us a good bit of time to get the player and camera in place, where all I had to do was tweak how the camera followed the player and where its position is. This includes weapon setup and firing now fully in place and working on adjusting bullet direction to go towards our intended targets. Overall our initial setup is moving along and should give us a solid base for the following weeks as we flesh this out into a solid MVP.
